  • Hi , I hope your first treatment goes well, the first one is daunting but once you've got one under your belt and know what to expect it's so much easier.  They will take very good care of you, I had a specialist nurse who saw to all the newbies and spent lots of time going through everything and you can ask any questions.  I had a similar combination, they will provide you with a small bum bag type thing to pop the pump in, I had a district nurse come to my home after 48 hours to disconnect.  I got dry skin from the cetuximab, they will give you cream which should help and I also took antibiotics everyday.  You will come home with a bag of meds, my nurse wrote on the boxes what they were all for which was helpful until I used to it all.

You will also be given a 24 hour helpline, so there is always someone to contact if need to.  I had a call before each chemo to see how I was so make a note of any side effects as they can adjust your meds accordingly.

Let us know how you get on, you've got this!

    Best wishes, Michelle. Xx

Hi Michelle Ty for answering, i know  we get some good advice from you lovely people, and that puts us at ease, i hope you are doing well if you are still having treatment, but i got a call this morning ,to say my app was cancelled ,due to me not having a certain type of blood test , so looks like start date put on hold until next week, Take care xx

  • Oh no that's a pain , just when you got yourself all psyched up for it.  Ah well, you can enjoy another week off and I'm sure they will get you in as soon as they can.xx
