I have been diagnosed with rectal cancer and am due to have surgery in next 4 weeks been told by surgeon some options no 1 is to have a colostomy bag fitted after rectum removed which will need a camera to check thought the stoma every 3 months to checked for cancer or have another bag fitted after they take away all the bowel he says it will remove chances of cancer returning to bowel area has anyone been in a similar situation
