Hi all, my husband starts chemo next month and as part of the guidance info we were advised that in the event we have intercourse that he should use a condom. He had a vasectomy a while back - would we still need to use precautions if I can’t get pregnant? Is the condom requirement only to stop the chemo drugs passing to me through pregnancy? That part really wasn’t clear? Not that I expect we will have lots of intimacy but good to understand the situation here.
I think it’s to stop passing any chemotherapy through body fluids to you !
I only learnt recently carers should not handle chemo tablets and gloves on for cleaning up and sickness etc !
I think it’s the same principle!
All the best to your husband with his chemo!
