I was diagnosed with stage 3 low rectal cancer last December I started chemoradiotherapy in January and had my surgery in May total resection unfortunately I picked up a few infections and my wound still hasn't healed properly yet I was just wondering if anyone knew what is meant by watch and wait appointment many thanks
Hi Dando55. I thought that watch and wait related to tumours that had been completely zapped by the chemoradiotherapy and so the patient decides not to have surgery and is checked on a regular basis instead? Perhaps you could ring your support nurse to clarify?
Take care
