Hi Sorry if this seams a stupid question - I had 40 cm of descending colon removed (7 weeks post op) awaiting chemo but just wondered if it is normal to have very thin poo's (smaller than the width of my little finger) and if so will it always remain thin or gradually get thicker? Is it thin due to the descending colon has be stretched and so it will naturally be thinner? Thanks in advance
hi,
Firstly no question is a stupid question, you are only 7 weeks post op your bowels will still be all over the place. I think i had the same op as you 4 years ago, sigmoid colectomy? My stools are now real tear jerkers !! You might need to add a bit more fibre to your diet BUT give your support nurse a call and run it by them
Hi Dom, many thanks for your reply, i will give them a call, at the minute I'm having lots of fibre with prunes and prune juice along with meds for my constipation so it's normally loose stools every few days with the occasional very thin formed poo, looking forward to the eye watering ones lol,
