Today is the day that the MDT meet to discuss my case.
Will I get to know the extent of what they found during the colonoscopy, CT and MRI scans and what treatment I will get or will I have to wait for an appointment with a consultant. Very anxious. Waiting to know is dire.
All I was told at colonoscopy is that I have a large ulcerated Tumour.
Would be grateful of any information of your experience of the situation of MDT.
Many thanks
xx
Hi
All the best for your results ! Right now it’s hard to predict . Pre covid you would have an appointment booked . If they have not arranged that they may very well phone !
However if you are content to pursue it yourself you can phone your specialist nurse to ask them the outcome of you have been given a contact name !
Or a wee email to the surgeon’s secretary to ask for them might speed it up !
I totally agree the waiting anxiety is amplified with the delays !
Take care ,

Hi . The MDT will discuss the treatment plan for you and then you will have a meeting with the consultant who will outline the plan and answer any questions that you might have. I’m afraid you probably won’t find anything out until then.
Fingers crossed your appointment comes through quickly
Take care

Thank you replying. I really appreciate it.
That's a shame, as the colorectal nurse said the other day when I spoke with her, the consultant is pretty much booked up at the moment but hopefully I will get an appointment for sometime next week. Week comencing the 18th Oct. It is what it is. I'm not complaining, I'm just very anxious to get moving with it.
Thank you again

Thank you Court,
I really appreciate you taking time to reply.
I will speak with the colorectal nurse later on today and see what she has to say. Obviously, However anxious I have become, I'm in their hands and their time scale.
It difficult, but I guess I will need to try and redirect the stress of it all into some more beneficial than worry.
Thank you again.
Just saw this post after I responded to you on my thread Bolero. The waiting is horrible, I got the date for my appointment with surgeon sent out about same time as appointment for scan. This was in June this year. Although I was told during the colonoscopy they were pretty certain it was malignant so maybe that was why they just got on with it. I had to reschedule my appointmentt though as it was due the day my son was getting married so in the end it was 10 days after the scan. In my imagination it was going to get the worst possible news - as it was it was a lot better than that so try not to dwell on worst case scenario,
If you've not heard I would suggest calling colo-rectal specialist nurses though who will talk you through what happens next and may be able to get appointment sorted for you. They may also be able to tell you what the outcome was but I didn't ask them that. I found it helpful to try to stay in the moment if you can, or at least for as much of the time as you can. Good luck.
