Hi all, been to Hospital tthis morning to talk about my next treatment,was told it be about 2 weeks, but had a call this afternoon, and its all go from next week,didnt expect it so quick, now its time to sit & think about the next move, and the nerves will certainly kick in,i  will be having the line put into my chest, this is where the treatment will be fed through, from what i understand, was told about the side effects,including hair loss,  i was given some leaflets, which i sat and read this afternoon, & its a lot to take in, i understand some of you have been through this, and may not want to talk about it, but any tips would be helpful please,about what the next few weeks, months could be like,

  • Hi . Do you know what sort of chemo you’ll be having? The port in the chest may sound a bit daunting but it will be so much kinder on your veins. I’ve attached a link to the chemo top tips post and you can always type the name of the one you’re having in the search box to bring up other posts

  • A lot to process and sounds as though it’s a bit sooner than you anticipated! 
    It is always a draining day just even hearing all about it !

    Hi Karen,it all has to sink in yet ,but i know im in good hands Drs & Hospital Nurse wise, and all the lovely people who help on this site, treatment is (Cetuximab (+/- Chemotherapy)    and Irinotecan-Fluoroacil (Folfiri) whatever they mean, and Ty i will try looking at the link ,Tc Karen x

    Hi Court, it is sooner than expecred, but in a way its going to help hopefully, i,ll keep you all informed about how it goes , Ty Court ,you & your mum Tc also x

    • Hi nan nan that's the treetment I'm having I think it's the 1 that would shrink the tumor if your finding it really hard my oncologist suggested citalopram anxiety tablets and theyv bee brilliant I couldn't focus at all couldn't go out of the house I was in a terrible state and also I seen a counciler and was excellent

    Ty Winst8,i had a bowel tumour removed last year that went well, but it kicked spots to 1 of my lungs, they have got a touch bigger ,after showing up on a recent scan, so hopefully this treatment will keep them under control,Take care x

    Hi Winst8, was stage 4 ,but opperation went well last year,Drs was pleased with the results,just hoping i have luck with these spots on lungs now, i had my hickman line inserted fri ,no problems as yet , fingers crossed my treatment goes as good, hoping you are feeling well, take care x

    Hi nan nan I'm stage 4 iv got to have chemo to shrink tumor then operation feeling ok but got very loose stools now

    I had my picc line in Friday starting chemo Friday they told me I would lose my hair don't care about that has long has I get better
