Hey everyone

been super positive since diagnosis then all through surgery   Since liver lesion was confirmed cancer I’ve really struggled to carry on and be positive about anything

I don’t know wether this is chemo/cycle 6 , or just me reacting to news .. anyone else been here ?? Like I just see things going wrong instead of right , and I was never like that before! Cancer in liver , it’s 2cm and I’m on chemo so they are thinking it will be dealt with

  • Hi . I think sometimes the elastic in your positive big girl pants can get a bit stretched over time and after the diagnosis and then the surgery you have every right to feel a little bit deflated to find out that you’ve now got the liver hurdle to get over. You’ve been through a hell of a lot since your diagnosis and even the strongest people have days of ‘give me a break’. My favourite mantra was ‘this too shall pass’ - and it will. You’re bossing the chemo and still finding the strength and spirit to support people on here too which is fantastic.
If you’ve read my profile you’ll see that I had a few months of ‘things going wrong’ and it does get you down so have a couple of down days if you want then put a big knot in that elastic because you can do this.

    Take care

    Karen x

ps I used to be a massive speedway fan - Halifax Dukes - but it’s a bit depressing now to find that I’m watching the sons of the riders that I used to watch! Gutted when it went onto BT Sport Frowning2

  • Hi Karen, you are absolutely right , it’s hard going but I have amazing 3 friends who have never let me down, and husband who is my backbone and chief dryer of tears lol , my mum reminded me today that I am allowed to be less than okay .. but I will tie that elastic on my pants and pull them up !!
this forum is fab as you alll get it , more than anyone

tomorrow is another day and as my wee grandson says ah can dae this! , middle grandson loves the moteybikes as he calls them, it was a great day , and being 5 ,2 hours was enough for him

    thank you Karen x

  • Hi Stomagirl,

I couldn't agree more with Karen062. I think it is okay and perfectly normal to have down times, sometimes only minutes, sometimes a few hours, sometimes a few days. It will pass. Everyone always says how positive I am, and I found it easier to be so (fake it until you make it!) but they didn't see the times when it all got too much and I would have a little cry and feel sorry for myself. Top tip: do not cry when on Oxaliplatin, it is far too painful for your eyes! You are being well looked after and it sounds like you have great support at home. They are there for you (as is everyone on here). I hope today is a good day for you xx
