Ct scan showed 2 nodules on right lung then biopsy on elbow has come back as a cancer to, going next Thursday to see oncologist so scared now xxd
Hello Bud 18
Firstly sending you lots of love and support on a very difficult day ! However once you gather strength as I know you will you will start to focus on treatment options . Remember Marianne26 had a great result treating two lung mets using Radio frequency ablation!
Also can I ask is it a different primary in your elbow or a spread from bowel cancer ? Not got a lot of knowledge on either but hopefully your team will be getting their heads together . However it’s tough having to even think about enduring more treatment but I am still holding out for a good plan to knock it back down !!
Till then we are here to hold you up !
take special care ,

Hi Court, I not sure what elbow cancer is, they looking at it again to see what exactly it is xx
I feel so sick and cannot see any light at end of tunnel, I really am hoping they give me chemo as only ever had surgery and 5 days radiotherapy.
Just feel I running out of time
Totally understandable . You will be shocked by the news ! Have you never had any chemo ?
Once your team talk you through the options you might see a little more light ! It’s hard when your information is not fully available but bowel cancer unlike some other primaries actually has quite a few chemo therapy options .
My mum had chemo prior to her liver/ bowel surgeries , over two years but none before or after her lung met .
Take care ,

Hi Bud
However you learn about the results of a CT scan, it's always difficult to hear....The waiting for the phone call, or the one to one meeting...both are so difficult to endure. Nowadays, my maxim is....'you are only cancer free dependent on your last scan.' However, after two years, I am currently 'cancer free' or perhaps in remission...& my CT scans are becoming further apart. My last was in June this year, & my next will be December. In between, I thankfully don't think about cancer anymore personally, although, I am still on this forum....subconsciously, it never leaves you fully.
I see that courthas factored me in here....because I also had mets. from bowel cancer that went to my right lung lobe in March '20. Like you, I never had Chemo following my left hemicolectomy in May '19. as my Oncologist at the time deemed it unnecessary, as there was no Lymph Node involvement. However, I did have EMVI. I think in hindsight, it would have been best to have had follow on Chemo, however, I was the patient, & I considered my medical team the experts.
I subsequently developed two nodules in one lung....measuring 5.3mm & 3.5mm...both very tiny. Once discovered, my Oncologist immediately thought of Lung Ablation & got in touch with Bournemouth Hospital Radiologists...as she though me a likely candidate. However, she also put me on an 8 week cycle of Chemo. It should have been Capox...but I refused the infusion, & just opted for it in tablet form. Fortunately, after 6 cycles of Capecitabine, both lung tumours had reduced significantly, (particularly the smaller one.)
In October '20, I had a phone call on the Friday, telling me that they had a cancellation for the next Monday....to undergo Lung Ablation (by Radio Frequency waves.) I was terrified & unplanned - but of course, said yes.
This involved GA & just an overnight stay. The next morning, I had two tiny plasters on my chest. I took them off....& there were no obvious marks there. One month later, I had a scan at my local hospital....which just showed scar tissue, & no evidence of the original nodules/ tumours.
So.....perhaps talk about this procedure, when you next see your oncologist. It's quite a specialist procedure, & only carried out at certain hospitals throughout the UK
Wishing you all the best....& yes, there's always hope.

Marianne Thankyou so much, my head is absolutely mush today, I know the lung nodules were not there at last scan in March so it may be small still, I just don't understand how I got cancer in my elbow, think once I know treatment plan I will be able focus more.
Sorry but what is EMVI
Hi Bud....EMVI I forget the exact words, but it basically means that some minute cells were found in a vein near to the primary site of bowel cancer. From what I've read here, some oncologists recommend chemo following diagnosis, whereas others don't.
