I am feeling so low. After clear scan last month again they have found through a colonoscopy they have found a small cancerous polyp on my bowel. The dr. Was very nice and says he knows the surgeon that was suppose to have done my surgery before I did the chemoradiation. I don’t know if I should phone my chemo nurse tomorrow. I have been worried about a pain in my back and knee of which I have been told it is sciatica. The dr. Said hopefully they will get it all this time, but not his speciality. I feel very deflated since treatment finished last October every timeI’ve had two lots of clear scan only for there to be small but still cancer.can they keep treating me.?
Hi Nelly1955
So sorry to read that ! Is it at a different location in the bowel? You have really been through the mill ! I hope you get a chance to chat this through with your team !
As long as they can remove it they will most certainly keep treating you and it sounds so small ! My mum has had loads of surgery ! They nip things in the bud but it’s so not what I want for you !
It is so hard getting a clear scan then a knock back !
I would definitely give your specialist nurse a call ! That’s exactly what they are there for !

Hi Court thank you so much for replying. I didn’t ask the position, they let my husband in and i Put my daughter on loud speaker. I have just spoken to a Macmillan nurse who said I should speak to my specialist nurse. She said there should be options. I am in bits. I don’t know if it’s another primary or reaccurance.. he just kept saying it was very small and he didn’t think it was anything sinister but it was attached and definitely cancer. He removed another polyp. I am in shock because I got the clear scans and thought I was alright, I’m so glad I didn’t let her forget about the colonoscopy. The Macmillan nurse said that we should sit down and write questions down. I sorry if I dont make sense but it was just this afternoon an£ my head is a mess. Nelly x
No wonder you are shaken by that ! It’s a lot to process and you were just finding your feet . However very small tumours do frequently have solutions and it was certainly much easier for my mum getting them early and quickly dealing with them .
You need more information and a solution to aim for . But a great idea to phone your team and see what they advise you .
Just so sorry you have more waiting to endure . We are very much here for you as ever !
