  1. Hi, I am just asking if anybody has had a sane experience as me and any advice.
  2. I have a t4 tumour very low in my rectum which is not operable until it is shrunk.
  3. I have had 1 week off intense radiotherapy which has given me pain and uncontrollable bowel movements, I started chemotherapy and ended up in hospital due to uncontrollable bowel and pain, I feel as if I have diarrhoea and constipation at the same time, I have been on laperamide and stool softners with no results,, it has been 8 weeks since I had my radiotherapy and feel worse now, I cannot move around easily and feel bed bound,  is this normal and has anyone else been through this with a successful outcome.
  4. Thanks, Richard.
  • Hi

That sounds really rough ! Have they scanned you recently to see if the shrinkage has been sufficient?
I am going to tag in  as you might be interested to read how a second opinion was helpful getting to surgery .

Is your team aware how much discomfort you are in ?

    take care ,

Hi there ,I had an appendix tumour which metastasised in my colon and stomach. My first hospital told me chemo hadn’t worked and was inoperable .I sought a second opinion ,I had different chemo and paid for Avastin which is useful for gastric tract cancers but sadly no longer available on the NHS Please research it and ask about it .If I hadn’t had a second opinion I would have probably be dead now
