Haven't been on here for a while been abit busy. So for the 2nd time had to ring for an ambulance for my husband. Another blockage was the diagnosis caused by the Cancer pressing against the small bowel. He spent 8 days in hospital by which they sorted his pain relief by fitting a driver or rocket as he calls it. (Actually called end of life pump) what a difference in his face, no grimacing or doubled over. They also sorted his diet as he was only nibbling, not enough to have kept a sparrow alive. After 6 days on just a saline and paracetamol drip he was allowed his first meal of pureed food. All went well. Thank god. So he got home, we ordered some pureed meals to save me doing it all (still working) so far so good. Got a bed from the hospital which is helping him. And now for the best news for him....he had his rocket removed and is now on morphine patches!! What a wonderful invention. Just waiting now to hear when he starts his 3rd round of chemo. We have everything crossed for him. Sorry for the essay.

Hi Barbel
Sorry to hear your husband had another trip to hospital however it sounds as though their intervention turned this around for him . Getting his pain level reduced and his food intake up are both big tasks which sound as though he has achieved. Setting him up nicely for his third round of chemo and a more sustained treatment plan .
This must have been hard on you too so send you lots of support ! You have done very well to keep on working . Great idea to order food .
Let us know how round three goes and tell him I am sending him my very best wishes .
Take care ,

Hi Court, thank you for your kind words. It really has made all the difference sorting the pain relief out for him. He thinks he is superman now and missed the hospital that much that he ended up in A&E today. Decided to cut his hand open with a Stanley knife didn't tell me til I got home from work.
Food wise is good. Ordered it with Wiltshire farm foods. He gives each meal a rating. So far only one has been a quack quack ooops. Lol.
Atm have got to work to keep money coming in and to keep both our sanities.
Hope you had a good holiday Court.
Take care

That’s really good to know regarding the food and I will keep that in mind ! I have seen the vans around my neighbours and wondered what they were like.
What on Earth was he doing with a Stanley knife ? What a man ! He is keeping you on your toes for sure ! But I kind of like his style ! Good on him for trying .
Holiday has been good thanks , lots of walks and coffees ! However in true Scottish fashion it’s turned cold !
So pleased his pain is under control but think you will need to step up the supervision!!.
Take care ,
Court

He is so trying to be independent. Breaking up the divan bed that we no longer need as he has the hospital bed. Because I'm at work he has a free hand only the one atm. Lol.
All you have to remember with the food it just doesn't resemble what your used to but the taste is nearly the same. And add gravy.
Barbel.
