Hello!

Sorry it took me a little while to get back to you as things has been chaotic for me, juggling with my sons and taking care of my partner also trying to finalise our wedding plans! Can’t believe we’re getting married next Saturday! It has been so frantic!

I posted a little while ago regarding Liam’s operation, Liam had his planned procedure successfully and removed the node (gland) in his abdominal cavity and has been sent for testing.
Surgeon was pleased with the outcome and there was no complications! He can’t see any cancer surrounding in that area when he removed that cancer. It’s gone now. He even joked by saying I’ve got a wedding gift to give you and we were like, really what is it he said a good scar on his body lol. It’s good to have sense of humour! As some surgeons can be stern or too serious? Ha ha.

have to wait in 5 weeks time to meet his surgeon or oncologist for the results and see what his next treatment plan… I really do hope it will be a good news! Either way that cancer has gone all I can do is hope that evil bugger hasn’t spread elsewhere in his body and let him have a break from all the treatment!

his recovery is not too bad but his moods is all over the place, purely due to frustration of being unable to hold our 5 month old and restrict his movements as he’s normally on the go. Had to bite my tongue half of the time and hang in there. How long does the recovery normally take? I know all individuals are different.

thank you all, it’s such a good support forum on here and really does help me.

love Twinkles xx

  • Hi Aww that is such good news - I bet you can’t wait for the big day now.
I had a Low Anterior Section with open surgery and was told 5 weeks recovery although keyhole can be as little as 3 but as you’ve said everyone is different. I was told not to lift anything heavier than a kettle of water with enough for 1 cup in and no driving until you can safely perform an emergency stop. Looks like you might have to carry him over the threshold then!

Cancer messes with your head as well as your body and it’s normal for moods to be all over the place - the worry of the op, relief that it’s over, anxious wait for results, frustration at what you can and can’t do afterwards, excitement about the wedding………Hang on in there and look forward to the wedding - it’s a lovely thing to have had to focus on after everything you’ve been through as a family

Have a fabulous day and let us know how it all goes

    Take care

Absolutely yes! Definitely - having a good sense of humour does help!

now we are looking forward to our big day and I will send a photo but you need to tell Me how to do it? As me and technology or online Don’t agree well ha ha!

    Xx

  • I will look forward to seeing it . If you are using a phone or iPad you just go to the box you reply in . Below is the word paragraph then six little boxes . If you go to the one with the mountain oRoflit   That’s the photo box . It gives you the option of adding from your devise and you simple select size . I always go for small ! It uploads easier ! Then “ Done” . That’s it . It’s quite easy . YRofl could practice first ! Rofl.

I am rubbish with that sort of thing but this is quite easy . If that fails Grab a teenager . They always seem to know !

  • Great! I’ll give that a go… no I would rather to try do it myself as my teenager son has this kind of habit with taking the mick out of me! But if push comes to shove I’ll have to put my pride aside and ask for his help JoyJoy

  • Thank you Karen.
today has been a good day as Liam finally able to give our 5 months old a cuddle and enjoyed his cry up this morning (I don’t do fry ups at all) but it’s a real treat.

we are finally looking forward to tie the knot without worrying. But you’re absolutely right, cancer does mess our heads but it’s up to us not to allow it. And I’m most certainly won’t let it ruin us! No matter how hard it is!

will send a photo of us once we’re married.

hope you’re keeping well too xx

  • Teenagers , don’t you just love them ! I only have one left in their teens but they enjoy having a joke at my expense too ! I keep sending them that Instagram post about not laughing at me over technology as I once taught them to hold a spoon !

However I do adore them .

    Have a great day .
