Hello
I lost my husband last November with a brain tumour which he had fought for so many years.
In March this year I managed to get an appointment with my GP about a pain in my right hip which I'd had a few months. Had blood tests showing bloods all over the place diagnosed with Iron deficiency anaemia. Had ultrasound had to give stool samples which came back with blood in them although I'd never seen any blood and had been sending samples off every 2 years and coming back negative.
Had endoscopy 2 colonoscopies and was told I had a cancerous tumour in my right colon. Fast forward to 26 May saw a wonderful Colarectal Consultant who explained everything to me. Had right hemicolectomy on June 10 by keyhole surgery contracted cellulitis around wound and awful mouth thrush.
I'm home from hospital . I found out that 23 lymph nodes were harvested and all clear .the tumour was removed along with right colon.
Had phone call to see oncology on monday as the tumour has abnormal cells. I thought cancer cells were abnormal so I'm.puzzled by this . I know it will be explained to me by oncology but has anyone else been told this?
With losing my husband in November and going through all this within the last 3 months I am feeling really upset by everything.
Sorry if this has gone on too long. Take care everyone x
Thank you Louis
It's a hard time we are all going through but we have each other to turn to .
Take care x
Hi hope you are managing with the tablets.I found milk was the best for getting them down.
All the best.
Hi Katz
I am starting chemotherapy tomorrow and am worried about the size of the Capecitabine tablets.
I've heard they are quite large and I have trouble taking paracetamol ones at the minute . Taking them with milk might be an option. Did you find them large?
I'm still trying to drink more and using some of the tips Court and Karen suggested.
I'll see how I go on with them over the weekend and let you know.
Thanks take care xxx
