Week from hell !!

So last week was doing great then I got a urine infection so on antibiotics for a week,I have terrible mouth ulcers preventing me from eating I could honestly cry with them and to top it off I broke a tooth last night !

Can I go to the dentist ? Do I speak with my oncologist first ?

I had to have a tooth pulled during treatment, the dentist contacted the onologist for me

re the mouth ulcers, I was prescribed a really good mouth was to help these, not one you could buy over the counter

Hi HazG. Yes I would speak to your oncologist first. There is a lady on the bowel cancer uk board who is a dentist so I’ve attached a link to a post showing her comments. Hope you manage to get sorted quickly

Hi, my Onc prescribes Difflam mouth wash for ulcers, have some before food and it definitely helps.

Thank you its quite had to get hold of my oncologist could I ring the chemo help line ?

Spoken to my chemo team yes I can go to dentist but no drilling or extraction so not sure how they will do filling

Hi HazG had a bad mouth ulcer last week nothing seemed to work. A man from another group said use bicarbonate of soda in warm water. 1/2 teaspoon in 1/2 a cup of warm water swish it round your mouthIt's almost gone. Hope this helps
