We lost my beautiful mom to bowel cancer yesterday after a short 7 weeks since diagnosis. We cared for her at home which is what she wished for, she was brave, never complained even with the harsh effects of the illness, she was amazing, but looking after someone dying of cancer was the hardest thing I have ever had to do - does anyone have any information about support groups as I feel this may help me as I start to comprehend the last few months and the awful way in which cancer has taken our mom away.
Hi and I’m so sorry to hear about your mom. There is a board on here for family suffering from bereavement - I’ve attached a link below
https://community.macmillan.org.uk/cancer_experiences/bereaved-family-and-friends-forum
Please give the nurses on here a ring. They are here for both patients and family and will be able to help you find the support you need. The number is 0808 808 00 00
Take care

Oh
So sorry to hear about your mum ! You were so loving towards her and that must have brought her so much comfort during such a difficult time .
Karen has given you the link to the Bereavement group and you also might like to try Maggie’s centre if there is one near you . They sometimes have some counselling available.
Take care ,
