I have a big week this week, CT scan, chemo and consultation with oncologist. I'm hoping that my 3 month scans will show no sign of anything on my brain having had 2 ops last year. Also expecting that liver and lung tumours will have shrunk. Am feeling very well so hopeful for positive outcomes!
That sounds very interesting. The whole concept of cell inflammation and infection, also there is a very strong argument that our immune system is at the heart of destroying the cancerous cells before they take hold.
Your mum sounds amazing and her experience gives hope to others!

Hi all,
Finally met with my oncologist on Thursday with the MRI results. After a deep breath and fearing the worst I was relieved to be told nothing seems to have changed and no signs of any new disease in my brain since November.
The process reminded me of the anxiety and uncertainty that we live with every day that never quite leaves.
I've had a port line fitted this week for ongoing treatment, I've been on chemo for 6 months this time round and will have another 3 months for now to hopefully get some more tumour shrinkage in my liver and lungs. The port will give me some more freedom with a reduction in number off appointments and allow me to swim!
I've also significantly reduced the amount of sugar in my diet, theory being that less sugar reduces the amount of energy to the bad cells, I've always been amazed that how little oncologists speak about diet and nutrition. At the best it keeps me healthier and fitter.
So, in the spirit of Derek Trotter, "onwards and upwards Rodney, he who dares wins"!
Best to all, Martin
Hi
Just delighted to hear that !
So , so pleased for you , but what a wait you endured !
You are made of strong stuff and onwards to more shrinkage !
So pleased you can get to go swimming ! The whole diet think is odd . Certainly for my mum it was more a case of making every calorie count due to the weight loss but after chemo she eats a lot of nuts and quite careful now .
A nice piece of good news for you and your family and hopefully in the near future there will be more to follow !
Take care ,

Thanks Court, yes I've also introduced lots of nuts and seeds into my diet to boost my omega 3 intake, again to reduce cell inflammation. I can only imagine it does help and also minimising pesticides etc. I read the "anti-cancer" book that theorises that the massive sugar increase and drop in omega 3 because of industrialised farming has caused the massive increase of cancer disease. I take what I can from literature without becoming obsessive about it.
Best

Hi
I must give that book a read . A couple of years ago I was given the task of helping my niece through her Geography exams . The more I read the more concerned I became and made me realise my kids had never experienced things like grapes with stones and how far food has been modified over the years . Between that and the antibiotics and pesticides we seem to have created a problem when they tried to solve others ! I have Also noticed as I drive up to my caravan lots of fields with no cows now but enormous barns which my sons tell me they never get out of the barns . Not sure how it really is but my mum said she had seen this ! He asked me to start buying organic milk so where I can I am making some minor switches but how to combat an entire industry seems a task in itself but it has moved so far in a different direction from my childhood.
But I am concerned about the number of young people coming through forums and although I have no idea why I do want to do what I can especially for my kids !
We have been adding nuts also . Had roasted walnuts with goats cheese the other day and was very tasty !
Be interested to hear more !
take care ,
Court
