Hi All, my Wife had her CT Scan on Sunday and I was wondering where the next bit of news will come from?
Does anyone know if we would/could receive information through the Post, or will it be all at once at the dreaded meeting with all the Cancer Experts?
After doing a little research I think that I could understand basics from a written report.
We was told that the results from her CT Scan would be ready in 7 - 10 day's time. However we are not sure which way this will be initially conveyed.
Sorry pressed to soon. I think they were going through backlog. Someone much more knowledgeable then me on these matters might pop up. It’s Monday why don’t you give the hospital a call and ask them. Did a nurse or anyone give you their number? If it stops you from worrying give them a call. Best wishes Nelly x
Hi Gunfitter The scan will have been carried out to give the experts a clear picture of your wife’s situation then the MDT (multi disciplinary team) will meet to decide on a treatment plan. I didn’t receive any information in the post at this point and the result was discussed at the meeting with the consultant. I had a phone call from the Colorectal Support Nurse to say that I needed an MRI as there was something showing in my liver but this turned out to be a benign haemangioma which are apparently quite common and the sort of thing you can have had all your life without realising unless you have this sort of scan.
I know it’s a horrible waiting game but things will honestly feel a bit better once you have a treatment plan in place.
Take care

That’s great news Gunfitter. The surgeon will explain the treatment that they’ve decided on. It’s worth jotting down a few questions and taking a pen and paper - I was a bit like a rabbit caught in the headlights in mine.
Apologies if I’ve posted this booklet before but it has some question suggestions that you might like to take a look at and also a heads up on potential treatment
