Hi has anyone here had secondary overian cancer as a result of the bowel cancer?
Hi @Missymoo I had secondary cancer on the ovary last July after having small bowel cancer in 2018. It was a large tumour which was removed at the same time as having a total hysterectomy. I was given a very poor prognosis. I was on FOLFIRI (5FU) from October which was reduced twice due to side effects but I have been off chemo since early February following two clear CT scans. Take care
Hi thank you for your reply. I had stage 3 bowel cancer 2019 and 3 months chemo Oxilaplatine and Raltitrexed. Sadly it didn't work and I underwent emergency surgery in March to remove both ovaries. Surgeon told me my ovaries had Krukenburg tumours and a poor prognosis. I am now having 8 cycles of Raltitrexed over 6 months. No Oxilaplatine due to side effects. Hopefully this bout of chemo will give me longer life. Great news for you and your reply has really cheered me up.
