Hi all. I am just curious to know if anyone who has been or is on the CAPOX regime experienced very sore abdomen pains? I have just completed my 3rd cycle of it and the pains are actually worse on my '6 days off'. I have taken Codeine Phosphate and Paracetamol and I'm lucky because I can eat and sleep. I also was wondering if it is a good sign to be experiencing such side effects?
Really appreciate any help. I realise too that I'm not on the community very often. Hope everyone is coping well and remember, we will beat this!

Hi and I’m sorry to hear that you’re struggling. I don’t particularly remember having stomach pains. Perhaps you have a chat with the nurses on here on 0808 808 00 00 for a bit of reassurance?
Take care

Hi again. Don’t forget your 24 hour chemo helpline is there too - it’s not just for emergencies. Another thought was Could the codeine be making you constipated? x
Hi Karen
Your account is excellent and you're doing brilliantly. I'm imagining that, all being well after my next scan, I will be getting another 4 cycles of CAPOX. To be honest if the drugs are working I will cope with the abdominal pains as I've had zero other (at the moment) side effects bar feeling slightly more tired at times. Your story is inspirational and motivating. Thanks so much!

Hi
My mum did and her oncologist warned her that some patients fine the rest week more difficult.
Her pain was like colic type pain . You might want to phone your team or our helpline as my mum was allowed to take an over the counter product which did help her . But it was a long time ago so best to check with your team to see what’s best to help .
Helpline number 0808 808 0000,
The chemo did do a fantastic job for her though !
Take care ,
Court

Hi Court
Thanks so much for your response. I think my pain is more 'crampy' than 'colicy' if you know what I mean. I have my fourth cycle tomorrow and will ask the oncologist about it. The help line recommended Codeine and paracetamol. I get some relief from these sometimes but it is fair to say that the pain is there most of the time. I will follow up on this tomorrow.
Cheers again for your advice and it's always good to hear that the chemo worked!
