Hi. I'm newly diagnosed and suffer from constipation and bloating. I take Laxido every day - usually half a sachet night and morning for a maintenance dose. I wonder if my bloating is caused by the Laxido or is the bloating a symptom of bowel cancer anyway? Excuse tge ignorance.
Hi
I don’t actually know much about laxatives but bowel cancer can certainly cause bloating . It’s one of the signs to look out for .
Have you got a treatment plan yet ?
Please feel free to ask any questions. It’s what we are here for to share experiences and that allows others to get more information for themselves .

Hi , I was in a similar situation, as the moviprep for the colonoscopy seemed to have ripped my guts out, and aggravated the tumour. A low fibre diet and the doctor suggested lactulose, seemed to work. Laxido was used after the op, though the collecterol surgeon prefers sodium software. Yes I've been through a few different ones!!
So court is correct, it can be a symptom, but I think the moviprep has a lot to answer for. Ask away if you have any other questions, someone is bound to answer!
Hi, I’m 2 plus year post surgery and living with constipation and bloating. Laxatives seem to have a different effect on everyone. The side effects of Laxido and lactolose are bloating. There are others out there such as Milk of Magnesia and Senna which you could try, . I have a stoma so I can also irrigate which enables me to keep an eye on constipation warnings. I’m currently trying bisocodyl which is a stimulant and keeps things moving along. Questions to ask yourself though are you getting enough exercise, fibre, fruit and drinking plenty at least 2 litres per day more if your working hard in warm weather. Cut down on coffee/tea maybe. Have you looked at foods that cause gas such as beans, fish, cabbage etc that add to bloating. Hopefully it’ll resolve soon. Very frustrating though.
