Hi
So sorry to hear about your dad . If I am reading this correctly once your dad stopped chemo his health has improved ! My mum had a horrible time on chemo so I can totally see how it’s hard to separate the chemo effects from disease progression as they can really look the same . Clinically the oncologist would have a feel for how his liver is functioning. I think it can compensate for a while before a tipping point is reach but they would have a grasp of how well it is functioning . Would your dad be ok with you giving them a call ?
I know my friends mum stopped treatment and had quite a few good months .
Sounds as though he still has a good appetite when the chemo has been removed !
Our helpline staff would have a lot of experience in that field . 0808 808 0000. They would be able to give you more insight .
So difficult to know what to do at times .
take care ,
