Hi, don’t know if anyone can help, after complete response, no spread. Went to A&E because I have a large upper abdomen hernia, so I had a ct scan. Found a dot on my spleen. He said it was so small I’ve got to have an ultra sound in a couple of weeks. So head has gone into overdrive. The surgeon is going to get in touch with my oncologist. I got the good news on the 13th of January, and it’s only the 1st of March!
Hi Nelly1955
To be very honest after 35 scans for my mum we can conclude she has as many lumps and bumps on the inside as she has on the outside . Following a cancer diagnosis you immediately go on the gold standard for any hospital investigation as far as I can interpret. My mum has had checks for breast lumps , kidney aneurysm, lung nodules and vein issues . The list goes on and on . On the other hand we have no idea of the anomalies that may exit in other family members .
Initially it was alarming now we accept it as part of a very attentive process that keeps her well . It does cause considerable anxiety going through the process but they will check it out just to be safe .
Is it your own surgeon who has reviewed the scan or the A and E staff . Given you have had such a recent scan I am sure they would be able to review that quite quickly and put your mind at rest
All very stressful to be honest but I would get in touch with your team to put your mind at rest .

Hi Court thank you for replying, I didn’t see this one up, so I posted again,. I will get the hang of it one day. My doctor was not I n A &E they where in part of the surgical team. I did tell them I had an mri in January, I phoned this morning and they have got me a ultra scan tomorrow instead of two weeks. They know I’m anxious. If it is a cancer I don’t know what they are going to do, I have a big hernia in my upper stomach. So I’m extremely frightened. Once again Court you always come through thank you. I was in the hospital over 6 hours!
Thank you, I know what you mean about the hills.x
Thank you Gemmary. I had the scan earlier this morning, the lovely lady says she put it on the system and my doctor will contact me. I did ask the cancer dr she said no my own go. I’m so glad I took Court’’s advice and phoned the cancer centre. So they got me int today for the ultrasound. Hope you are well x
Thank yo so much Phoebe21. I’ve read on these posts about a roller coaster. I had a complete response, was trying to let that sink in, started worrying about it coming back I have my follow up in a couple of weeks. Just waiting for my dr to ring. I can feel my breathing getting faster. They are so good they just say putting it on the system. Hope you are well xx
