Hi everyone. I had my bloods done today before starting cycle 3 of chemo tomorrow. I’ve had a phone call about my bloods, and the liver enzymes are just slightly higher, not abnormally high. They said they are happy to carry on with chemo tomorrow, but will check them again before my 4th and final cycle. If they are still high, then it could result in changing the dose or having an extra week off. Has anybody experienced this before? And what is the usual reason for the liver enzymes to be a bit high. Is it a side effect from the treatment?
Thanks everyone
Adam x
Hi Adam R
It is my understanding that some medications including chemo can cause liver enzymes to rise . It happened to my mum too . It can happen quite a lot and a wee break seems to help . I think they probably deal with it a lot .
Most of my mum’s dropped back down after chemo stopped . They will however ensure you are well taken care of .
Hope your doing ok with chemo ?
Take care ,
