Morning all,
Happy Sunday, hope yours is good and maybe involves a roast dinner.
Capacetabine. I've just had the foresight to look at the label and realised I've been taking the wrong dose (I thought I was getting away without side effects a little easy!).
The dose I should be taking is 2000mg a day (4 pills twice a day). Seems like loads.
I know everyone is different but what is everyone else taking? I'm upping mine tomorrow but just interested.
Ellen
Hi Ellen,
I was taking 5 in the morning and 6 in the evening ( 11 a day ) within 30 minutes of eating, this continued for about 4 or 5 weeks but the side effects got too bad and the oncologist decided to reduce to 8 per day
side effects include,
very sore feet
joint pain
heart burn
extreme tiredness, probably normal for all chemo side effects
Hope it helps,
All the best

Hi . The doseage is based on your body mass area which is why they weigh you and take your height and work it out from there. I think i was on 2 big ones and 2 little ones twice a day. I had shingles a couple of years ago and the doctor apologised for the size of the tablets she was giving me - I almost laughed as she’d obviously not seen a capecitabine one!
Hope your Sunday is going well - I shall be putting a pork joint in while hubby watches the football
Take care
Karen x
