Fluid will build up and will make you bloat so the fluid needs to be released .I had 2drains and one leaked all the time but once the drain is removed and the hole heals then all will be well
Hi Purplemurph. I had APR surgery in July 2019. I had 2 drains, one of which did leak a bit. I left hospital with that one in but it was ok by then. I wondered the same thing but it must be for a reason. I hope you recover well from your surgery.
