Wigs!

Hi everyone, hope you are doing ok.

I just wondered if anyone has any experience of ordering wigs online.  I have just had 2 cycles of Folfoxiri and my Oncologist said that I will loose my hair.  I have ordered a wig from a hair specialist, however, as we are now in Tier 4 they are closed for the foreseeable!

I am just looking to buy a wig online that will make do for the time being so I don't want to spend loads, just wondered if anyone has used any companies online?

many thanks,

Michelle

  • Hi Michelle, I haven’t ordered a wig online I’m afraid as the wig salon I used some months ago during the first lockdown told me that they had stayed open as they were considered to be an essential service for people with cancer,  etc. I live in South Wales.   Good luck and a Happy New Year.

Hi Michelle I have a telephone consultation  with the wig people this Tuesday.  I am in tier  3 in Bristol  will let you know what happens.

I am restarting chemo after a break for emergency  illestostomy.  I will be on the same  chemo  as you are  having .

  • Thank you for the reply, I've tried contacting the salon but no response yet so presuming they are closed. Oh well, have ordered a cheap one online for now, even if it's just popping out under a hat for the school run!!

  • Thanks for the reply Caroline, I hope you are doing well after the ileostomy.  good luck with the treatment restart, I haven't found it to had so far but only 2 cycles in.

  • Haha! I hardly wear mine, usually just wear a bobble hat .
