Hello everybody,

Can you believe it ! Seems like yesterday that the lovely  was setting up the “Boris Break” thread to see us through the first wave of covid . Here we are  descending the second wave and entering the last month of 2020!  We have come a long way . Some through surgery and treatments .

My self isolation has ended and my Christmas tree was purchased but  am I delusional about the size of my room or did it look much smaller in the large space when I purchased it ?

So here we go Dec 2020 .

Thinking of everyone going through treatment and especially those in the very early stages of diagnosis.

  • Hi Court the tree looks lovely. Has anybody heard from The BODACH?

  • Hi

No I am afraid I have not . Macmillan did establish contact at one point . Nothing since .

I do send the odd PM but get nothing back !

How are you getting on ? I often mean to ask about your daughter ! Is her celebrations still on hold for the UK ? Hope you are keeping well .

  • Lovely tree . Glad you are out of self isolation, and your family are OK.

I was wondering what had happened to Bodach. I know he was in hospital for a long time, but heard nothing since. He was such a wonderful support.

Onwards and flatwards (don't do hills) and keep walking if you can!

  • And a Happy December to everyone!! I really can't get into Christmas just yet, maybe after the 3rd when my daughter has a (nearly) lockdown 21st birthday!!

    Here's hoping everyone is well.

  • , hope you are over the long Covid.

Onwards and flatwards (don't do hills) and keep walking if you can!

  • , hope you are well. Not quite is the answer, still have some breathing issues, and waiting to see the respiratory team, but they want an echo first. None of which is going to happen any time soon. But the very slow drift is in the right direction, for which I am grateful. Thanks for asking. Take care.

  • A seasonal looking Strawberry Fields, yes the Strawberry Fields, which is about 200m from our house.

Well it’s the last day of Liverpool’s time in tier3/2nd lockdown - after 2 long months.  The result of this extended period & the mass testing pilot?  Liverpool’s Covid rate has fallen from nearly 700 to just under 100, the postcode for the area in which we live has a rate of 60.  Hopefully those areas entering T3 will see a similar reduction.  Suddenly there seems to be an outcry from areas going into T2/3 - thoughts go to Manchester which has been under enhanced restrictions since mid-summer.

It genuinely seems the new year will bring new hope.  The vaccine trials are producing definite results.  I’m not sure whether a “vaccine passport” for entry into leisure facilities is a good idea, I’m not opposed to the idea in anyway, if it gets me back to Anfield any quicker bring it on, but if there’s one thing the NHS does not need it’s more admin.

A personal thought to those who are recently diagnosed and awaiting news/treatment.  There is no ‘good time’ but I was diagnosed mid-December and know you are the proverbial ‘rain cloud’ while everyone else seems happy & carefree, in reality they are probably not; having the radio constantly telling you “It’s the most wonderful time of the year doesn’t help.  Anyway, best wishes to you all.

  • Thanks ! We have been in tier 3 since July 31st. We have got used to it now, and are not going to mix with family over Christmas. All our outings are to Hosp appts or admissions, but we are both OK, me in remission and husband clear of suspected cancer. We do lots of walking, zoom singing, have food and meds delivered, and get anything else on Amazon. Keep in touch with family on WhatsApp. We can have a lovely Christmas on our own.  Be glad when it’s over though!
    Best wishes.

Hi everyone and what a wonderful tree Court. We are really looking forward to Christmas this year. I am with my family, we got the tree yesterday and the free range turkey is on order. A bit late cooking the Christmas cake, getting the ingredients today and the fruit has to soak in brandy for a week before you can cook it but the effort is really worth it. I don't know how many Christmasses I have left but then again none of us know for sure how many more we will have so I intend to wring every drop of happiness from this one.

I feel relatively healthy. No more scans until Jan and I know more treatment and operations will be needed next year, right now, in this moment I am good and so blessed by my family and the faithful dogs, and I have Baileys to comfort me. I am going to miss seeing extended family but going to see my 94 year old mother in law next week (following the usual protocol).

    Life is good!

  • Apparently our first vaccine this side of the boarder is on the 8th! Next Tuesday !  Hope mum and dad are up early with their sleeves rolled up and I can shove them to the front of the queue. Now I just need to follow the media outlets and politicians to find the first location .

We are definitely sliding down the other side of the second wave here too!
We have had restrictions since the beginning of September! A few weeks they said !
I noticed the vaccine uses RNA ! Think I have read about that in some cancer treatments !!

    Lovely photos !
