hi...I'm  62..male.  about six months ago, I started having some bloody stool..and some pellet like movements...it has gotten more bloody and mucousy..and either diahreha or pellets...was thinking it's IBS..and tried to deal with it with diet (I don't have insurance or money)...lately, I've been feeling more and more weak...my work (remodeling) requires strength and endurance...neither of which do I have much of right now...but...also have not been working nearly as hard as usual the last year or exercising like i used to.  having several bowel movements a day..mostly in the morning...like every hour four or five times.  usually pretty bloody and runny.  Am still hoping it's IBS...and hoping the government will install some sort of health plan that I can afford....any thoughts?

  • Hi and welcome to the board. I am guessing from your post that you’re in the USA? As you say there are several things that can cause these symptoms eg. IBS, colitis, crohns but the only way of being sure is by getting checked out. If you’re passing blood when you go to the toilet then you may be anaemic and that would explain the tiredness and weakness.

I don’t know anything about cancer and the USA health system but I found a website that might help you if you get in touch with them?

Sorry I’ve not been much help but I hope you are able to talk to someone more in the know

thanks..yes, I'm in the usa..and our health care is very expensive...I've been studying IBS..and the symptoms are very similar...going to tty taking iron supplements to see if that over comes the anemia...thanks for responding!

  • Hi ,
    Welcome from me too!

Just wondered if you wanted to post on the Colon club forum in America . It’s been around for a long time and could answer your questions about funding scans .

    take care ,
