husband went for his year scan last week after having coln cancer last year his three monthy bloods seemed good but we just got letter to go for another scan as a shadow was found on his liver should we be worried thank you all
Hi trca,
Just my opinion but I would say not yet . Once you start scanning they take every precaution and that’s a good thing if not a nerve racking process but it ensure quick intervention for the people requiring it .
The liver can have benign cyst pop up and given all the body has been through it’s not surprising but many people here have gone for additional scans to be told it’s fine . For those who do require intervention liver mets still have treatment option. My mum was diagnosed with them back in 2009 . So even then whilst it’s not desirable it’s not without hope .
The safety net of the robust scanning process picks everything up and a good clinical team does exactly what your husband is getting . A thorough investigation. You miss more by not looking . This also gives them a base line to work from for future scans .
Hope it’s all good news and more a case of ruling out !
take care ,
