I have just reached the end of my 25 chemotherapy & 28 radiotherapy course. In the last 2 weeks I get extreme pain when I have a daily Bowel movement with some associated bleeding. How soon after the treatment ends do people notice a reduction in rectal inflammation with a reduction in pain . My current pain relief regime is slow release morphine day & night with liquid morphine sulfate solution after having a bowel movement if needed.
Hi and a very warm welcome to the online community
I'm very sorry to read that you're in pain and to say that must be distressing for you I guess is an understatement.
Whilst I don't have the necessary experience to answer your question I noticed that your post hadn't had any responses yet. By replying to you it will 'bump' it back to the top of the discussions list where it'll be more easily seen. I'm also tagging this group's Community Champion court into my reply to you as I know she's very knowledgeable on most things bowel cancer related.
When you have a minute, it would be really useful if you could pop something about your journey so far into your profile as it really helps others when answering or looking for someone with a similar diagnosis. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
I do hope you can get on top of the pain soon.

Hi and a big welcome from me . Can I also apologise as I don’t know how I missed your post as I normally try and make sure everyone gets a welcome . Bit stressed this week due to my own mum’s results and it must have slipped my attention . But I really am sorry and thank you latchbrook for raising this !
I have attacked an information leaflet that may or may not be of some help and hopefully others will pop on and share their experiences.
Hope it eases for you soon .
