Capecitabine side effects

Hi All,

I have a couple more side effects just appeared, a blister type sore under the tongue and a feeling of soreness at nose end and upper lip with dry skin, i have just finished my first round of tablets so have a few days off now before blood test, perhaps someone can offer advice on how to treat the above

When I had these side effects I tried pineapple chunks & also calliop ice lollies which seem to help. I have just finished my 25 day capecitabine course last week. All the best

Thanks Crib,

I have another 28 days to go but found that regular washing with cold water helped with the burning sensation on the face, i think its all the chemicals leaching through the skin.

Just before my last cycle (6th.) I also had these symptoms appear. I just continually moisturised on nose & lips with the Aveeno cream they give you. My Oncologist took me off them at that stage (not because of the sore nose,) but mainly bad peeling skin on hands & feet & very sore to clench hands. (Palma Plantar)

Many thanks for your reply, i will ask the oncologist first to see what they say, generally i don't use anything on my face not even soap but willing to give it a try if it gets too bad,
