Hi
I was diagnosed in April '19...after a Colonoscopy, which showed a 5cm tumour in my left descending Colon. I had a left Hemicolectomy in May to remove the tumour, which resulted in 9 1/2" Colon removed. The margins & Lymph Nodes were all very clear, but there was evidence of EMVI at the site.
Following the operation, My Oncologist insisted/ determined that I did not need Chemo. & so, I went away feeling good.
CT scan in March of this year, showed up two small nodules on my right lung. (Mets. from the bowel cancer.) Obviously feeling distraught at that time, thinking maybe I should have had Chemo....but hey ho, shit can happen.
Saw Oncologist soon after, still had trust in her. So...on Chemo Tabs. for the past 6 mths....(I refused the infusion,) because, as an artist, I was not prepared for Neuropathy in the hands (which is a common side effect.) So, on Capecitabine Tabs. only. Did fine, until the 6th cycle, when Oncologist upped the dosage...& I got Palmar Plantar, stiff, painful hands, skin peeling...not very nice.
Been off Chemo for 2 weeks...hands now fine.
Got a call Friday last week from Royal Bournemouth Hosp....telling me they had a cancellation for a Radio Frequency Lung Ablation on the Monday. Obviously terrified, no idea how to get there. But, I went for it. A week on, still feeling somewhat tired....but who knows, I might be cancer free right now.....& that will be the best news...after an 18mth cancer journey.
I have searched for Lung Ablation treatment on this site, but I rarely see posts pertaining to it. I would love to hear of someone who has also experienced it.
Thank you so much for this . I totally agree there is not many posts on the subject .
I will bookmark it and if you don’t mind I can also tag you in for others to draw from your experience. It’s absolutely no problem if you don’t . But I think it reduces so much fear of the unknown if you can read someone else’s experience.
Take care ,
