Hello, my younger brother has recently been diagnosed with recital cancer (genetic Lynch Syndrome). He’s only 48 and never been ill in his life.
Hes had a week of radiotherapy and is awaiting immunotherapy. Since having the radiotherapy he’s felt constipated and feels like something is sticking out- forgive the description. I’ve suggested it might be piles but he’s very worried.
We’ll call the colorectal nurses tomorrow but as it’s Sunday any reassurance would be gratefully received.
thank you
Hi Sarannie
The Macmillan help and support line is available today (as every day) to 8:00 p.m. The number is 0808 808 00 00 and there may be someone there who you could chat to. But it may be something that the nurse or your brother’s GP will need to look at.
The Bowel Cancer UK website is also very helpful - so have a look on there too.
It is so difficult watching someone you love go through treatment for cancer and you want to help, but often don’t know what to say or do but being there to offer love and support is so important.
Take care,
VickiLynne
