Has anyone here undergone any Dental treatment while on Chemo?

I would love to hear from anyone that has undergone any dental work while on Chemo. I am currently on Chemo, & have some teeth problems...that I would like to get treatment for. However, a few months ago, when I mentioned this to my Oncologist, she nearly had kittens & took me off Chemo, whilst I had a dose of antibiotics.

Hi Marianne26, I did manage to get a lost filling put back in, didn't have any cleaning, injections etc. Everything else had to wait until a month/6 weeks after chemo ended. I was on a low dose of 5FU rather than a cocktail. I did make sure everything was checked before chemo started, as mouths are very 'unclean'.

Hi Gemmary, unfortunately, I've got gum disease, so problems can flare up at anytime. Lockdown had just started when I started Chemo. & dentists were shut down anyway at that time.

Hi marianne, I did manage to get root cancel work done. They postponed my next chemo for a week for maximum immunity so it was right at end of cycle. Dentist was very covid safe and have had no side effects, good luck
