Dear all,

I am being checked at the moment to rule out bowel cancer. Had all the worrying symptoms and my mum was 37 when she was diagnosed with it.

I just had a telephone consultation with my GP who was shocked I hadn't had my scan appointment through as she said I should have had it within 2 weeks of her referral so she's chasing that.

She said my bloods were ok apart from my CRP which was 19 and she would repeat the bloods in 2 weeks to check this.
I know the elevated CRP can be for a number of reasons and could be that I recently without knowing.

Apologies, I don’t really know what I’m asking really Face palm

The doctor said although this result is elevated it's not panic stations requiring immediate investigation so I am not worried but it's just the waiting and now it'll be another 2 weeks before I know if there's any change.

Thanks for reading x

  • Hi

So pleased your GP is pushing to get your examination done . I guess you only really know that an inflammatory process is going on in your body but still need know the cause . In isolation it does not really offer any further information to you and certainly not in isolation directly related to a cancer diagnosis. There is so much anxiety connected to this stage of exploration.

Hope they get it organised really quickly for you.
