Hi - hubby has stage 4 bowel cancer that has spread to the liver. His treatment started on 5FU with Avastin and this worked for about a year but unfortunately stopped working earlier this year. He has since been on Folfox and Vectibix but it's possible that this has stopped working as his latest blood test has shown that his liver marker has gone up more than 10 fold and his tumour markers have rocketed - all in 2 weeks! It's possible it's connected to fracturing his shoulder but the team didn't sound that sure. I'm wondering if anyone else has had these treatments and what the next option was likely to be. I always like to have as much information as I can when we see the oncologist. Any help or advice is much appreciated.
That is really strange within two weeks . It would make you think his shoulder injury has had a big impact .
I honestly don’t know but I know Bowel cancer Uk has a Facebook group specifically for stage 4 and they could give you the details . It is ran by them so you would need to access it through them . People on their forum have the details . They sound pretty informed .
take care ,
