Hi everyone, it’s been a while! Today is the first anniversary of my Ileostomy reversal so definitely something to celebrate! After 7 months I had become used to Stella the Stoma & was able to eat pretty much what I wanted to. However I was glad to have the reversal and am pleased to report that a year on I have made a complete recovery. I eat & drink whatever I want and normal bowel movements have resumed!

  • Fantastic news . You are always so encouraging and a light to people just starting out that life can be very good again .

    This is fantastic news Clap

I'm 9 1/2 months post reversal and mostly I'm ok  but suffer with clustering every few weeks.

I'm wondering when it's OK to exercise the stomach muscles and lift heavy things?

  • I was told I could drive after 6 weeks & play tennis after 8 weeks. I didn’t do any Pilates for 4 months but I swam at 3 months. Lifting things like shopping bags I was doing after 8 weeks. I played tennis whilst I had my stoma so it wasn’t such a big deal once I had the reversal I guess. I wasn’t told to wear a support but I know some people who were, it depends on how the reversal was done I think. Hope this helps!
