Just checking to see if we are all finding our way around the site .
I have been through a few platform changes over the years here and it always takes me time to adjust .
Hope you are all ok and keeping well .

Hi Wombles,
Only yesterday I was talking to John Lewis about a new iPad. I bought mine when I was going through chemo in early 2012 and it was a life saver for me at that time. After having my iPad when phone and laptop needed updating I went for apple. I'm going to get the new iPad Pro with the bigger screen once they come back into stock. I was about to replace my iPad just before lockdown and John Lewis closed their stores. I use John Lewis as I can pay extra for them to properly set everything up for me. BUT I think the problem lies with the new website not our iPads, phones or pc's.
I find it most frustrating as I can read the message on my phone and iPad but have to get the laptop out to reply. That really annoys me as, in the past, I would get a post on my phone and could send an immediate reply.
Hopefully all the problems will sorted very soon - as from only using it for a few days there are improvements, and problems I mentioned to the service developer have been put in place - which is a positive for me.
So, along with pulling our hair out, I think we all need to hang on in there for the time being and try to reassure other forum members that a lot of work is going on behind the scenes to get the hiccups sorted.
Take care,
VickiLynne
Hello everybody !
Please let me know if you have any issues with PMs . I can’t read mine today so the technical team will be trying to solve it for me .
I so miss the Glasgow of my youth . You are never lonely in Glasgow and when I started my job the community only treated me with such kindness . I remember taking a horrible migraine the first week of my job . I pulled the car over and must have looked quite rough . I heard my window being wrapped by an old man wanting to make sure I was ok . And that to me is Glasgow! He was in need of a little help himself but that did not stop him . We all need that level of kindness.
Gemmary I think it’s more a case of getting some money in just now . I am going to start mine this Saturday coming . But I would not want you getting unwell . Just do what you can without compromising yourself . Anyone who wants to join in please feel free .
Are you returning to your job at the School ?
take care everyone ,

Hi all, just trying the site again, hopefully it will now improve!
court cannot think of doing lots of walks at the moment, but maybe later. It is also far too hot!! Yes I am scheduled to go back to school for the one day per week from 1st Sept. Unless they re introduce shielding I guess.
Daughter has date for first part of her knee op, the cartilage harvest, on 25th Aug so we are now back in isolation. Here's me thinking I might get some more freedom but hey, its her future. We managed a couple of single days at the beach, and have stocked up on food. I even went shopping to get used to it after 22 weeks shut away. It might have to be me who tops up on fresh stuff, as dad is hospital chauffeur. We will see. Strange times ahead, yet again. Can we press the reset button on 2020 please!!!!
Yes 2020 is not going to fade into the background of history for sure ! What a year it has shaped up to be !
Glad your daughter’s surgery is going ahead now . But also understand after so much isolating the thought of more must be difficult.
How did you find your shopping experience! My mum is going into smaller shops and out for a few coffees now . She is enjoying longer walks . I still do the big food shops and have to go with them on the walks but it’s progress ! How are you feeling going back to school . I have a few teacher friends who were happy with the thought of a blended approach with smaller classes but a bit concerned about the bigger class setting . Ours are all back today so we will watch carefully . Teenagers are keen for once but a bit of apprehension with younger classes !
Our exam system has changed again too. Not that it really affected my son . It’s been a challenging year for education for sure !
Don’t worry about the fundraising . Another time when your feeling much better .
One of those days where there is a hundred and one things to do . Would help if I had remembered my car MOT !
take care,

Check with the DVLA website that your MOT has not been delayed, those prior to 01/09 have, I think. It's odd how the flu of 1968 is so rarely referenced or remembered, estimated to be 40k deaths in 55m, or to scale it up 55k today, world deaths estimated at 1 - 4 million. Perhaps the lack of hysteria in the media helped keep things in perspective. Hopefully schools will be successful in their reopenings, the long term effect on all students will always remain an unknown. For the most economically deprived students the acute effects have been terrible, a 'football mate' of my son's who is a vicar runs two foodbanks, one from his church, the other with a local mosque, a belated Eid Mubarak to all. It has been long known the summer break is the most difficult time for food banks and their clients, this year it has lasted for over 5 months. He always asks people to donate at Tesco, they allow 'in date' items of which they have an excess to be swapped for 'in demand' items.
Strange times indeed, I now find myself in agreement with Mayor Joe Anderson, a rare thing. Following a typically racist & hysterical outburst from the ex-UKIP leader about visitors at Anfield, Anderson rightly commented, 'Refugees are welcome in Liverpool, Nigel Farage isn't. ' Well said Joe, well said.
YNWA (welcome to Liverpool Kostas Tsimikas)

Just a quick Covid update. We reached 102 days without further Community Transmission, but it's now Here We Go Again! 4 new cases in one family but in the Community an they don't know where it came from. More expected now. Auckland back up to L3 and the rest up to L2. It will be revised tomorrow I think and I won't be surprised if another complete lockdown is ordered. Panic buying again when there is enough anyway. (Big sigh of resignation.)
Hey wombles I am not sure why but I seem to have few problems now apart from the PMs .
Just when I thought the old Boris Break thread was close to becoming redundant with the spread being so low we all seem to be having a rise . A restaurant near me got closed this week . I passed it on Thursday and it was packed outside and inside !
A timely reminder to pay attention . When we got down to five cases a day in Scotland I have to say it was a nice feeling . However my alcohol spray was close by .
take care ,
