    Hi nan-nan,

I am new to the site also, I am the same age as you and I have just had a right hemicolectomy following a tumour discovered during a colonscopy. I had surgery on 1st April and am recovering well. Luckily I had no spread to other organs or lymph nodes, but a few cells were found in the blood vessels and on the duodenum so I will be starting a course of chemotherapy on 13 May.

I felt so much better once things had started happening, I was in hospital for 10 days after the op as I had a temporary ileostomy but even this is not really a problem, I obviously would prefer not to have it but if it means i will recover better then so be it!

I have only just started to post on here, but have received some great advice and feel so much better talking to people in the same boat as me.

Hope your op goes well, take care and hopefully we can be support for each other in the following weeks.

Thank-you Phoebe, this site has always got someone around to answer any questions ,and to give tips, im glad i found it and joined, its not been long since your surgery, and you sound as tho you are doing well, people like you give us the encouragement we need , and it will be nice to keep in touch with you also, and share how we feel, and are getting on, with this new lease of life we have, its going to feel strange for me having a new accessory to get used to, but hey ho i will cope as we all go through it, i have bought some stoma bag covers, so will feel trendy in  way lol, look after yourself, and il let you  all know how i get on, Take care xx
