It's all very confusing....when the meeting 2 weeks ago told me I would be hearing from Hosp. re. Ablation re. Lung Mets. from Bowel Cancer, which would be Bournemouth Hosp. Today, I received a phone call from Dorch. Hosp.(where I had my surgery last May.) telling me to expect a pone call this Wed. from my Oncologist...who I met once last year, & was insistent that I didn't need Chemo (despite EMVI.) I'm not sure I trust her opinions, but apparently, she is now the 'lead' referral person now in my journey. It's a pity that the patient isn't informed throughout...who is actually in charge of determining our treatment. Makes it very difficult on who to actually call.
Hi Marianne26
That is really confusing indeed . My mum’s oncologist remains her lead clinician over the ten years and refers out to specialist MDT meetings and thereafter meets with her again and informs her of the outcome of the meeting and who she has referred her on to. At that point a surgeon takes over until the process is complete and she returns back to the care of the oncologist.
It was is a complex system to work out at times . Hope she has some information about your next step in the process for you .
take care ,
