Hi I’ve just recently been diagnosed with a cancerous tumor in my rectum.  I’ve had all my tests and they came back clear and my consultant said I should just need radiotherapy treatment. I’ve not heard anymore for 2 weeks now I’m worried that I’ve been forgotten and I’m scared my symptoms might worsen whilst I’m waiting.  I’m feeling very anxious and I know there are many people out there with worse cancers than me but I just feel scared and unsure of what to do.

  • Hi

Welcome to the forum . I am really glad you reached out .
It is perfectly reasonable to be concerned about time scales . Knowing the start date for treatment gives you something to aim for . Two weeks is perfectly within an expected time frame under normal circumstances. However it’s a bit upside down right now so there is no harm in reaching out to your team to check what to expect given the current situation. That would give them a gentle reminder your needing information.
You matter as an individual and easing the anxiety that surrounds this is essential.

Please feel free to ask anything that comes up .

    take care ,
