Hi I would just like to say good luck to everybody in these troubled times. I had my bowel cancer operation Nov 2017 followed by chemo, my wife son and daughter where a great help during chemo. so I say good luck and stay safe to everybody
Just to endorse your message of support. Had my op in April 18, then chemo Jun-Oct. In remission, life is better than I ever expected in those dark days, despite covid issues today.
I have deferred my scheduled annual check with 2x ct scans, xrays and bloodwork due yesterday, as I figure hospitals are not only very busy but full of sick people(!) and I dont want to catch anything. I will reschedule as soon as that seems sensible.
I wont say to those who are earlier in this journey, keep fighting, as that used to really annoy ,me when I had no fight in me. And fight what? Accept it, live day by day, read stories of longterm survivors, prepare for the worst but hope for the best. The journey isnt fun but most get throught it.
I have a very good friend who was stage 3 at 54, then had a triple bypass 2 years later. Just turned 70 and plays very good tennis and when I first met him had no idea he had ever been in hospital let alone that he had a stoma. Looks the picture of health and lives and loves life. I know many others. People who only told me they had been through the bowel cancer journey once they knew I was on it.
Good luck
.
