Hi guys after successful surgery and now 5 doses of Fluralolicil I have s question regarding side effects.
For the last 3 days and nights I have been suffering with bad stomach gurgling and rumbling noises on the left hand side of my stomach and the area is now slightly painful and tender to touch. It started with a bit of constipation for a day but that went and I'm now ok with bowel movements but greatly reduced in number of visits/openings. These gurgling noises and stomach pain tends to be at there worst after eating. The rumbling and gurgling noises don't seem to want to go away I'm not too sure if it has anything to do with my recovery from bowel cancer surgery as now 15/16 weeks since surgery. I just don't want it to drag on incase it is something completely different to my recovery.
Hi ,
Can you refresh my memory . Are you currently on chemo ?
I would run it by your team as they like to make sure everything is fine regarding blockage . We contacted my mum’s team and she had bad colic type pains and a very noisy tummy you could hear across the room . They asked her various questions and seemed content with her answers . She used buscopan for the colic type pains . Ten years later and I can still hear a lot of gurgling going on . No idea why it’s so noisy at times and she has no stoma .
You also might like to ask our helpline staff if you need some reassurance. 0808 808 0000 . We certainly found it helpful to check out with her team .
All the best and hope it settles . Also apologies for not replying sooner . I read then got distracted by my family before I got round to replying .
take care ,

Hi Court
Yes I've had 5 chemo sessions now but all this trapped wind stuff started before my chemo began. I have had a follow up from surgery end September and everything was fine blockage wise. This latest bout has lasted 5 days with the stomach cramps and rock hard stomach the worst part. I have opened my bowels with the help of senna as it all started with a bout of constipation. I've spoken with the chemo team over the weekend and they have referred me to the gp but I will also give the colorectal nurse I was assigned to when diagnosed a call too.
Thanks Mark
