Hello All

After worrying about my first colonoscopy since my LAR and ileostomy reversal they discovered during the procedure that I had several suspected granulomas along and beside the rectal join site. They took four biopsies to confirm the diagnosis and obviously I am worried that it is a recurrence of my cancer. Has anyone else had these? I wasn't given any idea of the chances that they were one or the other and now I have to wait around four weeks to find out what they are.

I had prepared myself for good or bad news but I hadn't considered the possibility of no news. It has thrown me a bit and I am not sure if I should be pleased or horrified.

  • Sorry to hear this. Granulomas are common, but I don’t know likelihood of that versus recurrence. I do think a 4 week wait is very distressing. It might help to let the surgeon’s secretary know how you feel. Sorry I can’t help more xx

Onwards and flatwards (don't do hills) and keep walking if you can!

  • Hi Nicky

Im sorry but I’ve no experience of these either. Crossing all my fingers that the results come back a bit quicker than 4 weeks

    Take care
