I am sorry if I am being paranoid as I know there are many people on here who have real concerns and are having treatment. I send my love to you all.
Last Monday I posted my bowel screening kit. This is my second bowel screen and the first one was OK. When I hadn't received a response by today (Tuesday) I rang them up and they said they had sent my letter in the middle of last week and as I hadn't received it they would send it 1st class today.
I am very anxious as this time last year I was recalled following a routine mammogram which after 3 weeks they told me I was fine and I was just wondering if anyone else had had this problem.
Thank you so much for reading this post.

Hi Dana ,
My Bowel screen said it would be returned within two weeks . Sounds like an admin error or postal problem . Nothing you have said gives cause for alarm given they have tried to send it .
I don’t think there is a delay in a positive result , they just notify them they have been forwarded for further investigation. It happened with my mum and she was informed quickly . No delay at all .
Nothing to give undue concern at the moment but I can understand given your last experience why it would cause anxiety for you .
Hope it’s good news soon ,
take care ,

Hi Dana and welcome. Having had a look at the NHS statistics for bowel test screening the odds are definitely on your side. Only 2 out of every hundred are positive for blood in the sample (which doesn't mean that you have cancer, it is often caused by haemorrhoids). For routine colonoscopies which are the next step if it is positive, 95% are normal so there is a really good chance that you are fine. I hope that your letter arrives soon to put you out of your misery.

Hi Nicky
Thank you so much for reading my post and replying to it. I know I am probably making a fuss over nothing but will let you know tomorrow when hopefully my letter will arrive.

Thank you so much. Yes my results came yesterday, in fact the original letter came as well, and no more tests are needed at the moment. Thank you both so much for your responses.
Good luck.
