my partner received a letter suspecting lower GI cancer, I am hoping that it’s a hernia or something that isn’t cancer. I couldn’t deal with losing another person I love to cancer. I have an autistic daughter and thinking of how I am supposed to be able to keep myself together through all this, for her and my partner.

    Hi

It is a real bummer, isn't it? (Pardon the pun). My advice would be to simply take one day at a time. Easier said than done, but focus on what is in front of you, the next scan or appointment or whatever it may be. You are stronger than you think!

If it is confirmed that your partner has cancer, it means that now something can be done about it. It may not be an easy road, but there are loads of treatment options out there.

All the best, and let us know how you (both of you) get on.
