Hi I had Apr surgery August 2018 and over the operation very well.
My problems were that nurses didn't remove all the packing from perianal wound.i have been leaking green puss ever since
Have had 2 surgeries since to remove packing followed by mri scan.
I am now booked for further surgery 27th August as I have a large cavity where the last lot of packing was removed it now has damaged flesh which has to be removed then I having vac pump.
This is where I scared the vac pump has anyone had this and what is it like.
I then at a later date have to have complex reconstruction surgery to vaginal wall
Any advice welcome

Hi Bud18,
I'm very interested on how you are getting on. I had APR surgery 11 months ago, which comprised of the formation of a permanent colostomy and partial vaginalectomy. My tumor had eaten into the posterior vaginal wall, so during my surgery they used by stomach muscle (rectus abdominis) as a flap, to pack the cavity and form part of my vaginal wall.
My surgeons were very happy with the outcome. I still have some excessive muscle in the region of the flap, so I hoping this will be addressed by my plastic surgeon in the next few months. It has been very difficult to come to terms with and its affecting my confidence and relationship with my husband. I don't know anyone who has had this done. I found out after my surgery that I was the only female patient to undergo this surgery in the hospital ever.
I hope you are getting on ok and your surgery as gone well.
Take care
CDel
Hi wow you been through so much just keep looking forward.
Had my apr August 2018 histology report was stage 2 no mo which I was thrilled about.
Was told no further treatment as they got very good margins so no adjuvant chemo.
I had major issues with perianal wound thou it's only just healed so I had to have additional 3 surgeries to rectify the problem.
I had my 1st ct surveillance scan not so good it has shown a 9mm and 10mm nodules on left lung so now got to have pet scan still waiting for appointment so stress levels back up.
I only returned to work 24th Oct 19.
