Results - good news !

Hi all ,

we met with Laura's consultant yesterday , results from surgery are back and it’s all good news ! 12 lymph nodes removed , no cancer in any of them and good margins(?) , he said that it was caught at its earliest stage , T1 so no further treatment needed ! I’m so relieved !

The next step now is to have the stoma reversed which will be in about 6-8 weeks time once they’ve checked the bowel has healed properly . She will have follow up surveillance of scans and colonoscopies of course but everything looks good at the moment .

Lauras so happy , she can see an end in sight .

. I was just wondering how Laura was doing while I was making my tea and decided I would find one of your posts to message you for an update and you’ve saved me the trouble!

That is such good news - no lymph nodes, clear margins and T1 - doesn’t get much better than that. You must all feel so relieved. Is Laura coping with her recovery and the stoma ok?

So pleased to read this post - just the reversal to go which is a much smaller op. Please keep us all posted

She’s doing really well , still a bit sore and gets tired easily but that’s to be expected .

She doing ok with stoma , had some problems with irritation but we meet with the stoma nurse yesterday and she’s changed her to a different bag , hopefully that will sort it out .

The relief is indescribable , I’ve had such horrible experiences with cancer in my family in the past , thankfully this is a good ending !
