Hi all!

I'm getting really anxious about my situation and I was wondering if people who have gone through this or has information would be really helpful.

So I'm 20 years old and Male. 4 months ago I suddenly had agonising pain in my stomach, and I was on the floor for hours because I couldn't get up. This was the start of my symptoms. Days after that, abdominal pain had become consistent and is now spreading to the whole abdominal area (it started on my left side).

My bowel movement keeps changing, says with constipation then suddenly dieherea. Also I have blood when wiping and that's every time I go to the toilet. I also sometimes get bleeding from the anus without any bowel movements. I'm the last few weeks I have lost Co trol of my bowels completely(I soiled myself without even realising until a friend told me). That's becoming more regular now. I have to stay in day every day because I need to be near a toilet and I'm scared to leave the house.

I also have a family history of cancer, about 6 people in my mums side has had cancer. My doctor is concerned and has given me an urgent referral for a colonospcy but I need to see a consultant first.

The symptons are getting worse as each day goes by.

Thank you for any help you can give.

  • Hi ,

That sounds really difficult for you . I think they would want to take a full history from you to ensure other conditions were investigated as well , like Crohn’s disease etc . I think they will be very thorough with you and hopefully quick . However remember if it becomes unmanageable to get in touch with your GP to try and hurry it up or if required use the A and E department .

There are many colon conditions that produce the same symptoms so please don’t assume it’s cancer but you are doing all the right things getting checked out .

    take care,
